God, I Love the Internet

Plucked the above from a livejournal blog (I hate livejournal!) - this and LOLCats Waste Land? What else could you possibly want from life?

I see one of the images you left off was, "Travel through time, rip off Inception".

I find this ironic, not that you excluded it, but that Inception basically ripped off PKD. It's a twist on Maze of Death.

I liked the story in Inception (probably because of the obvious PKD-ish themes), but the acting/dialogue was horrible, and the editing made the movie about an hour longer than it needed to be. It's like they wanted to spend at much time showing pretty scenery on the screen as they could...without caring that people might get bored after a while.

CT - actually that was an honest mistake. That was one of my favorites Adding the image now...

I haven't read Maze of Death yet, but Inception reminded me a lot of Ubik. And there was a sub-plot that reminded me of Martian Time Slip.

I'm glad you liked it!

Inception also reminded me a lot of Three Stigmata, with the uncertainty of which world we were in at the end. Nolan gave a nod to PKD in the name of DiCaprio's kids, Phillipa and James. Pretty film, though, despite its plodding length.

Anon - Ubik too, absolutely!

themachinestops - I do like those dark uncertain ends like Three Stigmata. Another movie that makes me think of Palmer is Event Horizon...which is certainly darker than Inception.

Okay, last comparison...Eye in the Sky also has the same elements.

(Maybe PKD is guilty of ripping off PKD ;-)
