Tachyon Releases New Edition of Anne Dick's Search for Philip K Dick

Yesterday, Tachyon Publishing released their edition of Anne Dick's Memoir, The Search for Philip K Dick. I've written a lot about this book, and think it's a pretty important primary source. I don't want to be too effusive for you'll soon see how biased I am.

I wrote the Introduction! I'm sending my first copy off to be bronzed. Remember when I told you that you should all buy Anne's memoir when she self-published it a couple years ago? Well, now that version is sure to become a collector's item! And now, since you're rich, you can buy a new copy of the very nice Tachyon edition and read my Introduction. Buy it from Amazon and I'll get a cut.

I did buy Anne's self-published edition...got it with an autograph, too!

Is there anything new in this edition, other than your introduction?

I actually saw this in a Borders Bookstore this evening.

For those unsure whether to buy this...DO IT! It's a fascinating memoir of her life with Phil Dick, even if she comes off at times as peculiarly opaque. I don't know if it's because she's unwilling or if she's unable to acknowledge or understand aspects of her relationship with Dick or of her own behavior and motives at the time. Nonetheless, once I started the book I couldn't put it down and I'm very glad I got to see a semblance of the young-ish man she married, essentially at the start of his ascendancy in the SF field.
