"800 Words" Dick Play Set to Hit Montana Stage

A Quantum Dream, a theater group in Missoula Montana, is staging Victoria Stewart's "800 Words: The Transmigration of Philip K. Dick" at the end of January. The play has been staged previously in PittsburghMinnesota, and probably other places.

From the productions website

"800 Words: The Transmigration of Philip K. Dick" is a reinvention of the last few days of Philip K. Dick, the science fiction author, who had religious visions in 1974 when an extraterrestrial God appeared to him, communicating with artificial intelligence. Based on a true story, the play begins just as Philip’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is to be released as the Hollywood film Blade Runner. Using theatrical transformations, the play is structured so that memories and events bleed into each other, fusing and merging in Philip’s internal landscape. 800 Words: The Transmigration of Philip K. Dick is about God, art, madness, time, fiction and reality.

Cast includes: Reggie Herbert as Philip K. Dick, Ann Peacock as Sasha, Heaven Raines as Jane, Erin Lee Agner as Tessa, Timothy Ballard as Secret Agent Scruggs/Stanislaw Lem, Hannah Overton as Jen, and Casey Chapman as Victoria. With Scenic, Lighting, and Costume Design by Meg Elizabeth Denny, Sound Design by Jeremy Meine, and Stage Management by Fiona Harris, Lillian Young, and Mil Yedinak.
