What's New with Pravic Magazine
For those of you who don't know, I now divide my efforts between Dickiana and writing my own science fiction. To that end, I've begun Pravic Magazine with fellow Dick-head Nathaniel K Miller. We've just put out issue two and it's got stories by Rudy Rucker (!), Robert Onopa, longtime Dick-head litserv manager Cal Godot, and yours truly.
You can order a print copy here.

Fiction Up At Linguistic Erosion!
I've got a new story called "The Meeting" up over at Linguistic Erosion. I would be ever so pleased if you'd click over and give it a read. It's not very Dickian, but is short, and there is a little red pill. Read it here. I've also created an author page on Facebook; you could like it if you want.

Total Dick-Head Fiction on Daily Love
Dear Readers, I've had another story published! This one's called "In Time's Empire, They Were All Slaves" and it's on Daily Love's front page for the next 24 hours (then it heads into the archives). Anyway, it's a weird little story with a couple of Dickian moments, including the Roman empire superimposed over everything. Read it here, please. Also Pravic's on Facebook, where you can like it!
Update: My story is no longer on DailyLove's front page. You can read an archived version here.

Issue One of Pravic Now Available
So, yeah, there's a few more tidbits of Fest coverage I've got to get to, but don't sweat it. All in good time. Let me tell you about my newest endeavor, Pravic Magazine. You may have already read about Pravic, but back then it was just a gleam in the eyes of me and Nathaniel K Miller. Now Pravic has our first issue out (many fest goers were privileged to pick up their copy for free) and you can read some of it at our website, which will no doubt lead you to want to purchase a hard copy of the magazine for only $3 including shipping and handling. You get Ben Loory's story, "The Astronaut" - which you can read in its entirety here. You also get a story from Nathaniel K Miller, a sort of reverse of Bradbury's "There Will Come Soft Rains," but post-apocalyptic and grim. Speaking of grim, I have the final story in issue one, called "The Singer" and it's a real downer. It's quite long and I literally worked on this story for about a year and a half. I want you guys to read it. There's also a discussion of Star Trek and our Commandments for New Science Fiction.
All of you readers have been so generous with your time, dedication, and praise for me on this website. I really hope you'll continue to support me as I take what I've learned studying the life and work of PKD and apply it to my own art.

Announcing Pravic Magazine
Dear readers, while planning continues apace for the PKD Festival scheduled for this September (have you filled out our online survey yet?), I am striking out in a new direction. As the most devoted of you know, I have been trying my hand at writing my own science fiction. I've been disappointed in my survey of the SF currently being published, and when my own rejection letters started piling up, I decided to do something about it.
So, today, fellow Dick-head and author Nathaniel K. Miller and I are announcing the birth of Pravic Magazine:
Read our New Commandments for Science Fiction here.
And, if you know any good illustrators, please let us know...
Read this super cool SF story by Nathaniel K Miller here.
So, today, fellow Dick-head and author Nathaniel K. Miller and I are announcing the birth of Pravic Magazine:
Pravic is a new magazine bringing you literary Science Fiction stories, along with discussions of esoteric pop culture, music and movie reviews, and anything else we feel like. Why? We’re unhappy with the current state of SF – especially what’s being published. Having read what’s out there, we’re left feeling most of that shit is awful.
We think we can do better. We want to build a new grammar for SF.
In short, we’re here to fuck with your program.
Send your fiction, non-fiction, art, and whatever mind-bending miscellany we haven’t conceived of yet to pravicmagazine(at)gmail.com
Read our New Commandments for Science Fiction here.
And, if you know any good illustrators, please let us know...
